Rebecca Meloy is a painter, printer, gardener, and carpenter living in Bellingham, Washington. She studied at Cornish College of the Arts in fine art; at the University of British Columbia in garden design; and at the Bellingham Technical College in Building Construction Technology. - December, 2008—Karlson / Gray Gallery, Langley Washington | This holiday season be sure to visit the 'Small Works' exhibition at the Karlson Gray Gallery located at 302 First Street, Langley. You will find this charming, seaside cottage town on the south end of Whidbey Island, just a quick ferry ride away from Mukilteo. Rebecca's oils and acrylic paintings along with pastel drawings from the 'Spirit of Place, Centrum/Fort Wordon Suite' and from the 'Edison, Washington Suite' are available for sale. Rebecca's art will be in the gallery year-round and will also appear in the following 2009 exhibitions: March, 2009 'Armchair Traveler'; April, 2009 'Landscapes'; September, 2009 'Invitational Print Exhibition'.

- November 18 - December 5, 2008, Nordic Heritage Show, North Seattle Community College | Come see this spectacular collection of paintings, pottery, woodwork and textiles inspired and created by pacific northwest nordic artists. Some participants include Steve Jensen, Rebecca Meloy, Jan Lor, and Maren Larson. Opening receptions are November 18 at 1 - 3 pm and 6 - 8. Located at North Seattle Community College, 9600 College Way North, IB 1322, next to the bookstore. Show hours are weekdays 11 am to 3 pm and also on Wednesday evenings 5 to 8 pm. - November 3, 2008 - February 1, 2009: Big Fat Fish Company Exhibition, Bellingham | For the holidays, and beyond, visit the 'Animal Life' painting and printing exhibition at the BFFC restaurant located at 1304 12th Street. A reception will be held on Friday evening during the weekend of Thanksgiving in conjunction with the Tour De Art in Historic Fairhaven.
From realistic oil paintings on an assortment of surfaces, to linoleum prints, and on to mixed media and abstraction, you will enter the adventure of Peter Rabbit visiting Ireland to Wanda's World. Participating artists are Lesley Long from Sante Fe, New Mexico; Marion Raney Oman from Long Beach, Washington; and Terri Cruikshank, Maren Larson, and Rebecca Meloy (also the curator) from Bellingham. All the artworks are for sale. If you wish to purchase a work, simply pay the cashier with credit or debit card or with cash. Upon payment in full, you may take the artwork home, immediately.

In 2006, after a life-time of gardening, Rebecca received a Garden Design Certificate from the University of British Columbia. Since then, she has graduated from the Bellingham Technical College with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Building Construction Technology and works four days a week as a union apprentice carpenter.
- November 21-December 24, 2008: Allied Arts Holiday Festival of the Arts, Downtown Bellingham | On Cornwall Avenue, in the old Downtown Bellingham Penny's Building, plan to spend many hours checking out this year's Holiday Festival of the Arts hosted by Allied Arts of Whatcom County. Over 100 artisan's will be set up to sell their lovingly hand-crafted objects of art: glass, jewelry, greeting cards, pottery, and more. Eventually you will find Rebecca's paintings, prints, and cards in her booth and you might even find her helping at the festival on various weekend evenings between 4 and 7 p.m. If you wish to view her larger paintings, you are welcome to arrange an appointment to visit her home studio.
